Day 72 in New Zealand: Mountains and Beaches

We are a couple divided, one of us is a beach bum and the other prefers the mountains. Thankfully, in Christchurch, we get both! Today we managed to squeeze to do a bit of both.

Hiking or tramping as it is called in New Zealand is a popular activity with loads of trails that all offer amazing views. Today, we checked out Bridle Path which is accessible within a short drive from central Christchurch. The trails range from easy walking to more steeper climbs and if you are really not up for walking there is also a gondola ride you can take to the top. Regardless of which option you choose the views are the same. We only did a little bit of exploring today and plan to go back for more in the near future. In the meanwhile, check out some of the views from today’s excursion.

After a morning of hiking, we had worked up an appetite and I was craving some shorelines. So we headed over to Sumner for a leisure lunch. Clink is a cozy seaside restaurant we discovered on a previous trip to Sumner and we loved it so much we returned there today. Their outdoor seating is a great way to soak up the beautiful weather. Of course, one cannot go to the beach without taking a stroll on the beach.
